North Hill community residents Sybil and Mike Miller were motivated by love of their home country (South Africa) and its colorful artistic traditions to build an impressive collection of African tribal art. Now, that collection is on view as the featured exhibition at the North Hill Art Gallery, on the Wellesley / Needham town line. The collection includes incredible beaded pieces, wedding and fertility aprons, weavers shuttles, passport masks of clay and wood and other media. Each tells a story – from messages of love to the struggle to preserve cultural traditions.
