This course is led by Stacey Young, Certified Dementia Practitioner, Dementia Care Manager and Certified Trainer (as recognized by the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners). Stacey serves as the Director, Center of Excellence in Dementia Care at Broadmead. Stacey has worked in the field of dementia care for over 22 years supporting programs, assessment, education, support and more for individuals living with memory challenges and for care partners and professionals. This class will include topics relating to: Variety of dementia diagnoses and their symptoms, prognosis, brain changes, communication, behavior support, depression, anxiety and other challenges that relate to dementia, care partner support, nutrition, engagement, end of life and more. We will also cover cultural competency and diversity/inclusion as it relates to dementia care. This class is one of the requirements for applying to become a Certified Dementia Practitioner. If taking this course through our program, we are able to offer a Group Corportate Discount for your initial certification costs. We ask that you register by March 2, 2023.
