IT’S YOUR MONEY – KEEP IT SAFE!

According to the National Adult Protective Services Association, “Financial exploitation is a fast-growing form of abuse of seniors and adults with disabilities. Situations of financial exploitation commonly involve trusted persons in the life of the vulnerable adult…APS programs report that the number and complexity of reports involving financial abuse of vulnerable and older adults has grown significantly over the past decade. Recent research has found that elder financial exploitation is widespread, expensive, and even deadly.”

The BCRest Coalition invites you to attend the annual World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) forum on June 15, 2017 to learn how to identify financial exploitation and strategies to protect your finances.  There will also be a special presentation by the Mental Health Players.  The event will be held at the Randallstown Community Center located at 3505 Resource Dr. in Randallstown from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  After the forum there will be a Shred-A Thon from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.  Bring one box or bag of personal documents to shred.
