Friends Club, a small nonsectarian non-profit serving men in the early stages of memory loss,
seeks an energetic, compassionate, and dedicated person to join our team.
This is a full-time salaried position with hours generally worked from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Monday through Friday. Overtime unlikely. No remote work.
Salary commensurate with experience. Range $60,000 to $72,000 per year.
Benefits provided: health insurance and retirement. Start date: immediate.
Activity Coordinator’s primary responsibilities include:
• Planning all program activities.
• Scheduling entertainers, outside presenters, and daily activities
• Implementing daily programs with colleagues and volunteers.
• Maintain the safety of members.
• Working with the Director to access new member inquiries, train volunteers and assist
with marketing events.
The ideal candidate for this position will be superior in direct care of people with dementia.
She/he must be outgoing, engaging, and comfortable leading groups of 10-20 people through a
planned program. She/he must be able to build relationships with the members and colleagues.
Required:
• Two years (minimum) experience working directly and successfully with people
experiencing dementia.
• Designation as Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, Certified Activities Director,
Certified Dementia Practitioner, Social Worker, or comparable.
• Positive Energy.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
For more than 30 years, Friends Club has improved the lives of men with dementia and their
caregivers by offering meaningful and engaging social activities in a secure and friendly
environment. Friends Club operates independently but is sponsored by the Bradley Hills
Presbyterian Church. The Club runs a half-day non-medical social engagement program for up to
twelve clients per day. Activities offered are guided current events discussions, trivia, physical
games, word games, chair exercise, musical performances, lectures, outings, and
intergenerational programs.
