This integral position oversees all aspects of Healthcare and Residential Care dining operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Follows appropriate safety precautions, is familiar with emergency preparedness plans and is compliant with Roland Park Place policies/procedures regarding reports of employee accidents/incidents.
  • Oversees meal service operations in Healthcare and Residential Care following all federal, state and local regulations and guidelines for food service facilities regarding sanitation, maintenance and safety. Assists in supervision of all other department areas.
  • Hires, trains, supervises, schedules, evaluates, disciplines and coaches Healthcare and Residential Care staff on proper production, set-up, clean-up, food safety and customer service techniques.
  • Verifies and maintains all records necessary to comply with federal, state and local regulatory guidelines including HACCP cold storage, cooking and dishwashing logs. Communicates any non-compliant issues to the Director of Dining Services in a timely manner.
  • Maintains a presence in the dining areas during service hours, observing employee performance, coaching to enhance staff skill sets, addressing customer concerns in a timely manner and documenting information in order to provide a resource for corrective actions.
  • Develops, maintains and administers a Customer Service Training Manual. Manual is used for initial training and as a base for ongoing staff training and corrective actions.
  • Plans and conducts mandatory, monthly training sessions with service staff in all areas.
  • Insures adherence to established spreadsheets and meal plans by direct observation and conducting weekly test tray and accuracy audits.
  • Completes resident charting and care planning to insure the highest degree of resident care and customer satisfaction possible. Meets with new residents within 24 hours.
  • Acts as the sole department manager in the absence of other management team members.
  • Attends and participates in the resident Town Meetings. Presents summary of meeting to management team and staff.
  • Prepares bi-weekly schedules ensuring adequate staffing levels are in place to provide effective service. Schedules are submitted a minimum of one week prior to the start date.

Education and Experience

Two year college degree preferred. High school diploma required. Certified Dietary Manager certification (CDM) required. Knowledge of nutritional fundamentals and diet modifications preferred. Maryland Sanitation Certificate preferred.

Two (2) years supervisory experience in a CCRC or Healthcare Foodservice operation. Must be able to work flexible hours.
