CHAI:Comprehensive Housing Assistance Inc. is looking for a dynamic and creativeteam member to help connect older adults in the community to reliable andmeaningful community transportation services offered through CHAI’s Aging inCommunity division. The Coordinator will be responsible for recruiting andengaging volunteer drivers as well as the coordination of the CHAI shuttle program.The Coordinator will build relationships with volunteers to ensure the programis running smoothly and ensure volunteer satisfaction. The Coordinator willkeep abreast of trends and best practices in volunteer management and volunteerrecruitment. In addition, the coordinator will be the liaison between CHAI andtheir community partner in transportation Action in Maturity (AIM).

 

 

Tasks/Responsibilities:

 

VolunteerManagement 

 

·        Recruit, onboard and train volunteerdrivers on an ongoing basis using community outreach methods such as tabling,placing flyers, and booking engagements to speak to community groups 

·        Manage the flow of rides, promptingdrivers to maintain their commitment to driving for the program 

·        Formalize and implement thevolunteer retention plan; lead volunteer appreciation efforts 

·        Be available as the contact outsideof business hours for volunteer emergencies

 

 

TransportationCoordination 

 

·        Coordinate day-to-day operations ofall CHAI Senior Shuttles by managing reservations, including reminder calls andtroubleshooting 

·        Solicit feedback from riders andadjust scheduling as needed to incorporate rider input. Collect data andcomplete all necessary reporting 

 

Qualifications/Skills: 

 

•Bachelor’s degree required

•2 years’ experience in human services and/or aging services 

•Comfortable speaking to, and engaging with, individuals and groups 

•Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written

•Proficient use of Microsoft Office and comfortable working with database system
