A Corporate Director of Health and Wellness is responsible for enhancing the overall Resident experience through exceptional comprehensive leadership. Responsible for establishing and sustaining a culture of unparalleled service and long-term growth through operational management, goal setting and achievement. Responsible for handling multiple administrative functions, the Corporate Director of Health and Wellness ensures Morningside Elite communities are provided with oversight in the areas of regulatory compliance, quality assurance, risk reduction, clinical and staff recruitment and management, as well as survey readiness. The Corporate Director of Health and Wellness assists with oversight of the use of software for clinical assessments, documentation and medication administration.
Essential Functions:
• Serve as a health & wellness resource for Morningside Elite Management’s community services including specialty care, related services, products, tools, and materials. • Provide on-site and remote clinical training on a regular basis.
• Coordinate with leadership on-site and Morningside Elite Management's Operations to support teams in activities and initiatives in order to maximize efficiency of the health and wellness team and meet the needs of the residents.
• Coordinate with Operations to schedule activities and initiatives to maximize efficiencies of the health and wellness teams.
• Participate in coordination of regional and local training/education activities as needed for leadership, continuing education and/or career development in health and wellness, operational, or sales standards, expectations, and practices.
• Provide oversight and support to assigned communities in the transition to software applications for resident assessments, service plans and medication administration. • Work with assigned communities to assure compliance of State regulations, other oversight agency requirements and company policies and procedures.
• Monitor communities to reduce risks, assure safe practices and promotion of Resident Rights.
• Assists community management with resident care issues, hiring of health and wellness personnel, personnel training and challenges.
• Fills in as interim Director of Health and Wellness during a community’s DHW vacancy. • Assist communities to maintain an active and functional Quality Assurance (QA) Program to include QA incident reviews, resident satisfaction surveys, identification of deficiencies, implementation of a safety committee, development and implementation of action improvement plans and to assist with any plan of correction.
• Participates in staff training programs and assures staff educational requirements are met.
Education and Licensure:
• Registered Nurse in Maryland in good standing with the State Nursing Licensing Authority
• Certification as Delegating Nurse, MD preferred
Experience:
• Must have five (5) or more years of nursing experience including management experience, preferably in long-term care/assisted Living
• Must have a working knowledge of software, computer applications and be able to work with e-assessments, e-service plans and e-mar systems (experience using PCC preferred).
• Must have current knowledge of best practices for the elderly and residents with Alzheimer's and dementia.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with staff, residents, families, community leadership, state regulatory agencies and agency staff, physicians, hospitals and the general public.
• Must have a valid driver's license and be able to travel up 75% of the time. • Must meet all state health requirements.
