Daily Money Manager (2021)

After caring for my parent’s, I realized that what most people think is a solid plan often fails when it’s time to implement preconceived notions about how the rest of your life will flow.

I launched MemoryBanc in 2012 to help other adult family caregivers have resources and tools to help them on their journey. In 2015 we started offering services to help manage bill pay and important paper organization to include preparation for tax filing.

If you enjoy helping others, are great at managing money, and are detail-oriented, then this might be a great job for you.

What’s the job like?

  • You will get to solve problems you never knew existed
  • You will become part of a support team to help older adults lead the lives they desired
  • You will be able to set up and manage your own schedule
  • You will have clients pay for your services while they are thanking you for your help

Manage the day-to-day financial affairs for adult clients that are too busy or overwhelmed to pay bills, organize for taxes, submit medical claims, and manage basic household maintenance. Our clients include busy professionals, older adults that have some health issues that make managing the finances difficult, and younger adults that have been diagnosed with ADD, ADHD, Asperger’s or Autism. We may act in tandem or perform on behalf of clients.

  • Organizing for tax filing
  • Elimination of unused services
  • Detection, protection, and reduction of predatory services and fraud
  • Balancing checkbooks and organizing finances
  • Home visit reporting to client and approved family members
  • Compile a monthly cash flow summary to illustrate income vs. expenses
  • Handling bill payments to include online services and credit card accounts
  • Home maintenance scheduling, competitive bidding using vetted and trusted providers
  • Complete, submit and collect medical claim reimbursements as well as Long-term care insurance claims
  • Overall customer satisfaction based on feedback from client and involved family members
  • Reporting and support to Trustee, POA, or parent

Ability to stay calm, exhibit empathy, and prioritize and focus on primary goals with attention to detail. Experience managing a household budget, cash flow, and reconciling both on-line banking and manual checking accounts. Proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Office suite to include Excel, Work, and/or tools such as Quick Books or Quicken. Ability to work one-on-one with clients (following COVID protocols) as well as coordinate using zoom and phone calls.

Customer focus, goal/results orientation, problem solving, attention to detail, organizational proficiency, relationship building, self-confidence, creating and maintaining a calm environment. A passion for serving older adults.

Relevant AA course work in book keeping, accounting, or finance preferred. Bachelor’s (BA or BS) Degree a plus. Any financial certifications also desirable.

Team members work up to 20 hours a week. MemoryBanc invests in training, insurance, and equipment.  Due to the our clients need for ongoing help, employees must block at least 2 days a week for clients (could be four ½ days), but can work up to 5 days a week if desired. Nearly fifty to sixty percent of our work can performed from a home office, by you will need to coordinate mail collection and are paid for drive time to our clients homes.

If you are planning on taking multiple weeks of vacation annually, this is not the right fit for you.
