IMCC is seeking an entry-level Development Associate that is part of the team that is responsible for building and nurturing long-term relationships with corporate, foundation, government and individual funders. The Development Associate is responsible for assisting in the management and implementation of IMCC's fundraising strategy through a combination of donor management, special events and outreach efforts. The Development Associate works collaboratively with IMCC's development team (Executive Director, Assistant Executive Director and Communications Director) as well as the marketing team (Education and Outreach Coordinator and Community Relations Associate) to achieve the organization's financial goals. The Development Associate will be both a self-starter who is able to work independently, and also a team player capable of working in conjunction with a small team. This position reports directly to the Assistant Executive Director.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Below are the main duties and responsibilities of the Development Associate:
  • Maintain donor database; ensure valid donor data and donor stewardship, from entering donors, gifts, recognition and running reports. Assist to build donor data base.
  • Write thank-you letters and acknowledgements for gifts and donations to IMCC.
  • Prepare reports for Development team as requested and assure materials are stored in an orderly fashion and utilized in accordance with best practices.
  • Manage fundraising mailings including; newsletters, appeals and special events.
  • Assist in developing annual appeal letters and mailing lists.
  • Assist in securing in-kind donations from businesses and corporations.
  • Assist in implementing strategies from IMCC's Fundraising Plan, supporting the efforts of planning, tracking and implementing all cultivation and solicitation strategies for donor prospects.
  • Assist in the coordination of event logistics, planning and implementation for IMCC's special events.
  • Assist in IMCC's outreach efforts to the community.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, business management or a related field and equivalent work experience or relevant professional experience in the field of development

Experience:
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience that provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be evaluated on an individual basis.
  • Firm understanding and knowledge of non-profit organizations and the fundraising aspects. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experiences in Gift Works/Front Stream donor database a benefit.
