Job Summary

The Dining Services Manager oversees all aspects of the of the dining experience, including food, beverage, equipment, and property to facilitate the fulfillment of financial goals and company initiatives. In addition, the Dining Services Manager assists in cultivating a team environment that provides exceptional customer service while ensuring all team members perform at a consistently high level. The Dining Services Manager also works towards motivating team member, instilling accountability, and achieving results to drive success in the position.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Oversee meal shifts and ensure resident satisfaction within the community.
  •  
  • Schedule daily work assignments for all dining services team members, assigning specific jobs and spot checking to ensure standards are met.
  •  
  • Responsible for sourcing and selection process for dining services team members.
  •  
  • Evaluate work performance of dining services team member.
  •  
  • Order food and supplies as required according to menus and department needs.
  •  
  • Keep accurate budget records.
  •  
  • Oversee sanitation of Dietary Department.
  •  
  • Cook a variety of foods in large quantities and be familiar with seasoning required and cooking time involved.
  •  
  • Monitor for substitutions when necessary.
  •  
  • Assist in planning menus for residents.
  •  
  • Review menus prior to preparation of food.
  •  
  • Manage the ordering, preparing, and serving meals that are palatable and appetizing.
  •  
  • Recognize and respond to dietary emergencies and document observations, interventions, and outcomes.
  •  
  • Follow established infection control and universal precaution policies when performing daily tasks, and implement changes as recommended from the Infection Control and Safety Committees.
  •  
  • Maintain and ensure safe facility environment including standards for maintenance and upkeep of dining room area.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  •  
  • Fine dining or club experience preferred.
  •  
  • Food Protection Manager Certification. Demonstration of knowledge of food safety and sanitation.
  •  
  • Demonstrated talent for interacting with a wide variety of people.
  •  
  • Ability to effectively organize and coordinate multiple priorities; ability to work well as a team leader; ability to problem-solve.
  •  
  • Strong customer service abilities; actively looks for ways to assist residents and team members.

Education and Experience

  •  
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  •  
  • At least 2 years of experience in food and beverage fine dining supervisory experience required.
