This impactful leadership position is responsible for overseeing the administration, programs, and strategic plan of Capital City Village (CCV), a 501(c)(3) membership organization. This position requires a creative leader who is skilled at leading hands-on operations, fostering growth, and developing and managing CCV programs. CCV is Austin's virtual community of seniors committed to aging in place - living in our own homes and communities comfortably - while maintaining healthy and active lifestyles. This position is designed for a flexible thirty-hour week. The salary is negotiable depending on experience and education.


Leadership and Management

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the organization and ensure its overall successful long-term operations.

  • Provide leadership in developing program, organizational, and financial plans and execute the policies and plans authorized by the Board of Directors.

  • Work with Board and Committee Chairs to promote the mission of the organization (see Mission Statement).

  • Attend all Board meetings and provide reports and updates on staff as well as all current work, project timelines, and project and organizational progress.

  • Drive development and fundraising in collaboration with the Board and Committees.

  • Create and execute a strategy for a sustained base of annual individual donors and maintain an ongoing relationship with major donors.

  • Manage and motivate two part-time staff, overseeing processes such to as hiring, separation, ongoing staff development, performance management and evaluation, and compensation and benefits.

  • Working with the Board Treasurer and outside accountant, manage the financial processes including but not limited to:

    • Creation of yearly budget.

    • Monitoring all expenditures and adherence to budget.

    • Coordinating and participating in bookkeeping activities including paying bills, handling incoming checks, bank deposits, and QuickBooks entries.

    • Working with an outside accounting firm that prepares yearly tax return (Form 990).

    • Preparing financial reports for presentation to the Finance Committee at monthly meetings.

  • Create policies and work within the policies approved by the CCV Board and maintain legal compliance.

  • Manage and maintain an updated information system that enhances effective electronic and written communication with members, volunteers, donors, and the community.


  • Assure the highest quality CCV experience for members and volunteers through frequent and meaningful interaction, engaging programs., personal relationships and individual support. These experiences provide opportunities for fellowship, education, and friendships.

  • Oversee, in coordination with Board and Committees, all programs, volunteer activities and fundraising events of the organization.

  • Manage the planning and execution of programs and events.

  • Attend committee meetings and interact with members and volunteers as needed.

Community Involvement

  • Effectively represent the organization and promote a positive organizational image to ensure effective community representation.

  • Develop working relationships with other community organizations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (required), Master’s degree (preferred) 

  • 5-plus years’ experience in management

  • Proven record of growing organizational capacity and programmatic impact

  • A strong passion for the mission and programs of CCV

  • Proven financial, managerial, event management, fundraising, problem solving, and communication skills

  • Passion for creative program development and organizational funding growth

  • Outstanding communication skills and ability to work well with media, staff, Board and Committees, and community organizations

  • Knowledge of CRM systems, QuickBooks Online, MailChimp or similar, Zoom and social media platforms
