Inspirations Assisted Living & Memory Care of Linthicum is a medium-sized boutique Assisted Living community providing excellent care for those suffering from Alzheimer's Disease and other forms of dementia. The ideal person for this position exhibits passion, excellence in leadership, and a genuine love for seniors. They enjoy leading and managing people, and have a strong understanding of caring for aging issues, dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, and associated memory issues. Having met the Assisted Living Manager criteria in the State of Maryland is required. Being an RN is favored but not a requirement.
The position is responsible for the management of the community and directs activities of the staff and contracted service providers on behalf of the community. The community provides its residents with services and amenities to deliver a quality living environment that meets or exceeds all applicable standards, regulations and policies including COMAR Chapter 14 on Assisted Living Programs. The Assisted Living Manager is expected to provide on-site management oversight and assist as necessary to ensure that staff are informed and properly supported at all times.
The Assisted Living Manager/Executive Director is responsible for upholding the policies and procedures that personnel adhere to while fulfilling services as defined. Leadership tasks consist of program management and reporting, marketing, staff recruitment, development and training, and operational program management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office Suite within a server-based environment, and online applications.
Ability to learn and work with any new computer software applications.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Working knowledge of financial reporting and accounting systems.
Comfortable communicating and working with people at all levels and with senior residents in a positive and professional manner.
Ability to taste and smell food to determine quality and palatability.
Capable of supervising food production staff, environmental services staff, and healthcare services staff.
Working knowledge of sanitation, food borne illness, and cross-contamination policies and procedures (HACCP) and OSHA protocols.
Full understanding and effective application of:
Residents’ rights
Awareness of right-to-know issues
Cleaning chemicals and other hazardous materials
Departmental policies & procedures
Training in CPR and Abdominal Thrust maneuver
Regulatory Protocols, HIPAA, HCFA, JCAHO and appropriate licensing authorities
Understanding of the application of sustainable, measurable quality initiatives
Qualifications:
Meet the Qualifications to be an Assisted Living Manager in Maryland
Prefer a Bachelor of Science or Arts Degree
Training in CPR and first aid
Has successfully completed training and achieved state certifications required to operate an Assisted Living community.
Experience must include at least 5 years as an Assisted Living Manager in a similar environment.
Physical Requirements:
Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability in order to cope with the mental and emotional responsibilities of the position.
Must have the ability to walk, stand, sit and bend intermittently.
Must have the ability to lift and move approximately fifty (50) pounds.
Compensation commensurate with experience and qualifications.
