Lifematters, one of the region's largest home healthcare providers, is currently seeking a talented and experienced Registered Nurses to join our growing organization. The positions we have available is for a Nurse Supervisor in DC or MD. The supervisor is responsible for the direction and supervision of all patient care services and other health care activities and includes supervisory home visits throughout DC or Montgomery County.


  • Registered Nurse with a valid DC or MD license is required.
  • One year (1) year experience as a professional nurse within the last three (3) years.
  • Valid state driver's license, current automobile insurance and means of reliable transportation.
  • Home Care experience preferred. Ability to provide care in a variety of settings.


  • Supervises and teaches staff in order to improve practice within the agency
  • Consults with the physicians in matters relating to patient care services when necessary
  • Periodically reviews policies relevant to patient care with the Quality Improvement Committee
  • Assists in overseeing staff development through in service programs and continuing education courses
  • Acts to resolve complaints made by client and family regarding care
  • Participates in state and national organizations, meetings, seminars, workshops, and activities relating to the health professions and health care services when appropriate.
  • Acts in the absence of the Director of Clinical of Services
  • Demonstrates competency, integrity, and accountability in the performance of staff development activities
  • Assists in compiling on an annual basis an educational calendar of activities
  • Reports to the Director of Clinical Services problems, which deter implementation of planned activities
  • Assists in the orientation of all staff
  • Assesses staff competency in the field
  • Supervises home health aide/certified nursing assistant services on a biweekly basis in the care recipient's home. Every second visit shall include direct observation of delivery of services by the aide to the care recipient
  • Ensure that staff members have been provided with orientation to comply with OSHA and infection control safety guidelines
  • Other duties can be assigned.
