The Sr. Adult Life Coordinator (SrALC) is responsible for planning and organizing activities and events to meet the social, intellectual, and spiritual needs of residents.  SrALC markets programming, encourages participation and engagement and provides leadership to other SrALCs.


Essential Functions & Responsibilities   

  • Implement, market and evaluate programming developed for an active older adult population, utilizing resident feedback obtained through open-forum, resident councils, and/or needs assessments   
  • Design a robust activities program that focuses on the spiritual, physical, intellectual and emotional wellness of residents   
  • Engage and empower the residents to become activity leaders and to form committees of interest   
  • Monitor trends in senior living and related fields that will support quality programming   
  • Supervise an additional Adult Life Coordinator located at a sister-site   
  • Create and maintain resource directory of entertainment/talent, guest speakers and volunteers   
  • Partner with community organizations to create more robust offerings   
  • Decorate for holidays and special events   
  • Oversee the transportation program for Weinberg Place Shuttle   
  • Publish monthly activity calendar/schedule of events   
  • Provide general volunteer oversight   
  • Other duties as assigned   

Job Requirements   

  • BA and two years of experience in activities, programming and/or event planning specifically geared toward an active older adult population, may substitute additional work experience for education   
  • One year of supervisory experience   
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to connect with a diverse population   
  • Proficient with computers, including Microsoft Office Suite   
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities   
  • Positive energy and enthusiasm   
  • Physically able to perform duties such as standing for long periods of time, squatting, bending and lifting   


Weinberg Place is an amenity-rich, 231-unit, affordable housing community for individuals over the age of 62 with a few apartments for those under the age of 62 and living with a disability.
