Goodwin House Bailey's Crossroads is seeking an energetic, dynamic, and detail-oriented Part-Time Volunteer Coordinator. The schedule for this position is 20 hours per week. This position is responsible for overseeing the Goodwin House Bailey’s Crossroads (GHBC) volunteer program. This includes recruiting, training, and maintaining all GHBC volunteers. Also responsible for some of the administration support for Resident Services (including financial record keeping, inquiry calls, and maintaining office and program supplies).

DUTIES:
1. Recruit and coordinate the volunteers needed in the community. Update and maintain advertisements for GHBC volunteer opportunities on volunteer websites and with local volunteer bureaus. Screen prospective candidates; interview applicants; and perform verbal and written reference checks.

2. Train all new volunteers at a New Volunteer Orientation. Review all policies yearly with all volunteers. Keep volunteers up to date with any changes through the quarterly newsletter.

3. Monitor all volunteers and their work. Maintain up-to-date volunteer records for the Department. A file on every volunteer will be maintained which includes volunteer application, volunteer background check, reference check and other pertinent information. Maintain database in Microsoft access of all GHBC volunteers.

4. Promote the volunteer program via flyers, newsletter articles, and brochures in order to encourage interest and participation from the community.

5. Recognize all volunteers by providing direction, encouragement, and leadership. Host a yearly volunteer recognition. Oversee the Volunteer of the Quarter and Volunteer of the Year program. Coordinate any refreshments and catering needed for volunteer programs.

6. Assist with developing budget for overall volunteer program. Monitor expenditures for compliance with budgetary guidelines.

7. Act as the Resident Services liaison for the Hospitality Committee. Put together the monthly hospitality calendar and birthday list. Attend the Hospitality Committee’s monthly meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and professionally
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to manage multiple programs and detailed processes
  • Enthusiasm for volunteerism and programming
  • Excellent time management skills
