A Bucks County Quaker tradition for more than three decades.
MISSION STATEMENT
Pennswood Village, a caring community guided by Quaker principles and traditions, leading the way in the provision of residential and healthcare services to those age 65 and older.
PURPOSES AND COMMITMENTS
We value each person’s right to self-determination and the dignity and worth of each and how they contribute to the Community. We:
Welcome the diversity of women and men of all races, colors, national origins, religious beliefs and sexual orientations;
Operate a continuing care retirement community and campus of Pennswood Village;
Extend the Mission to the wider community beyond the physical campus;
Employ, educate and nurture a staff who appreciate the aging process and who show an understanding and respect for this process in personal and professional interactions with those served;
Recognize that residents and others served are a vital part of an ongoing association with corporate directors and staff who are united in a sense of responsibility to each other and the broad community;
Provide opportunities for continuing growth and well-being in mind, body and spirit;
Develop and sustain intergenerational relationships with neighboring schools and organizations;
Make use of the cultural and educational advantages of its location;
Collaborate with other organizations in the development of programs and services that enhance this Mission.
TRADITIONALLY BASED
In 1973 a group of Bucks County Quakers envisioned a diverse, non-profit retirement community where residents could enrich mind, body and spirit. In 1980 the group’s vision became a reality, which is now home to an exceptional group of people who share a fellowship of inspiration, a thirst for knowledge and a love of activity.
SPIRITUALLY INCLUSIVE
Our community is guided in its philosophy and practices by Quaker values that begin with respect for the dignity of each individual, and a welcome for people of diverse faiths and traditions. The acknowledgment of this belief supports the quality of our care and services, and informs relationships among residents, employees and the board of directors.
NATIONALLY RESPECTED
Pennswood Village is one of a fraction of the nation’s continuing care retirement communities that is fully accredited by CARF-CCAC. This organization provides a national accreditation following a rigorous, multi-step evaluation process. Our care consistently receives the highest five-star rating from Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, and our community was also recognized in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Nursing Homes 2017 issue.
COMPREHENSIVE CARE
As a continuing care retirement community, Pennswood Village promises a continuum of care through all stages of life. Our contracts offer the most comprehensive level of healthcare coverage options and services available in a senior living community.
Quality healthcare services are available to residents of our campus as they require them, and include personal care residences at Barclay House and skilled nursing care at Woolman House.
