Broadmead to host acclaimed Baltimore native Herman Maril exhibit

Broadmead to host acclaimed Baltimore native Herman Maril exhibit

Paintings and drawings by the acclaimed Baltimore born artist, Herman Maril (1908 – 1986), will be on display, beginning May 1, on the Broadmead campus in the Community Center. The show, “HERMAN MARIL: The Strong Forms of Our Experience,” will draw on the rich collection of Maril’s work held by the Herman Maril Foundation in Provincetown, MA. It will be the first in an ongoing series of exhibitions in South hall, a newly renovated gallery space at Broadmead devoted to the visual arts.

The exhibition will be open to the public daily from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Parking is available for visitors in front of the Broadmead Community Center. Guests are asked to check in at the receptionist desk upon arrival for information about the show.

Join us for a special lecture on Friday, May 13th at 2:00 p.m. featuring Christine McCarthy, Executive Director, Provincetown, MA Art Association and Museum. Christine will offer a special insight into the life and work of Herman Maril.

For more information on the exhibit and upcoming special lecture dates please email broadmeadartcouncil@broadmead.org
