National Cannabis Festival spotlights age 65 and over

National Cannabis Festival spotlights age 65 and over

While cannabis is often thought to be used only by young people, according to a University of Colorado study, the use by senior citizens has dramatically increased in recent years. The Guardian reported that the fastest growing group of cannabis users is over age 50!

This comes as many older people are using medical cannabis as an alternative to pharmaceuticals. But it’s not only medical. AARP reported that older Americans are also using marijuana recreationally, contributing to a cannabis culture with “cannabis-themed dinner parties, yoga sessions, art classes, vacation tours and even a night out at a local tavern.”

The specially designated senior citizen lounge at NCF gives our golden buds a special space to mix, mingle and share experiences and questions about cannabis. The Senior Lounge will offer guests complimentary snacks and refreshments and a chance to talk to experts about how THC and CBD can be part of a healthy lifestyle.

NCF is fully ADA accessible, making it easier for those with walkers and wheelchairs, and the lounge is located centrally among our education pavilions, offering easy-access to panel discussions throughout the day covering all things cannabis lifestyle and policy.

For 10% off tickets for guests age 65+, please contact info@nationalcannabisfestival.com

We’re excited about making NCF 2020 our most inclusive and accessible yet.  Come out and enjoy activities for guests of all ages and stay to enjoy an amazing musical lineup, learn, and advocate for change!
