Order What to Do About Mama?: Expectations and Realities of CaregivingFor nearly five years, Barbara G. Matthews served as an Assessor/Care Manager for the Area Agency on Aging of Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. Her main responsibility was to visit seniors in their homes to administer a comprehensive assessment that determined their needs and eligibility for services. Matthews then “retired” to become a full-time caregiver when her mother-in-law moved into her home, an experience that motivated her to write this book. Since her caregiving role ended, Barbara has written two additional books—her memoir and a family cookbook. Both projects were influenced by her caregiving experience. A mother of three and a grandmother of nine, Barbara lives in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, with her husband of forty-nine years.
