12:44:15     From  Steve Gurney - ProAging Sourcebook : From Pamela Mills 12:41 PM

As a dementia specialist, I wanted to comment as to how important it is to include the person living with dementia in the process of the move. Dropping a person off on the day of the move is never helpful. Change and loss is difficult for every person, especially a person living with dementia.  By including the person in preparation for the move – discussing the positives of the new residence, letting them choose belongings, decorate the room, ask questions, will help each person adjust much more easily.

12:44:55     From  Oluwaseyi Jokogbola   to   All panelists : how long does it take to get approved for the waiver?

13:03:16     From  cynthia prudhomme   to   All panelists : Thank you for making this important point, Pamela Mills.  I believe families and people living with dementia can all benefit from exploring senior living options sooner rather than later.   Just as I would not want to buy a home without my own realtor, I would not recommend selecting an assisted living or memory care facility without a professional there to help advocate for my needs and help me evaluate my options.  CarePatrol professionals should be top of mind to help in this process!  If anyone has loved ones living on or wanting to relocate to the Eastern Shore, let me and Amy Feger know!  cprudhomme@carepatrol.com or cell: 610-283-2272
