12:31:46 From Sheraine Arbitsman to Hosts and panelists : Where can we go for the flat rate planning? i’m in NJ.
12:31:56 From Adele Logan-Galen to Hosts and panelists : Opps! I meant Judy. Please list your contact info. Thanks
12:33:13 From Dixcy Bosley to Hosts and panelists : Many of my private care management clients have long term care insurance so when I break the news that their ALF is $10-12 K mo plus additional $5-10 K for round the clock care to ensure safety…they don’t blink an eye. What will happen to these facilities and their clients when LTC insurance is completely unavailable for the aging Boomers to come. A serious health care economic crisis is on the horizon
12:33:55 From Jeffrey Briggs : Thank you for that clarification. Working for a home care agency there is a lot of confusion regarding the differenced between home care and home health so we do our best to educate people on the differences.
12:35:03 From Mark Asch : There could also be two Veterans benefits that pay toward non-medical home care
12:38:07 From Joe Sperling : A Partnership qualified LTC policy will protect assets and allow Medicaid qualification without counting assets equal to the amount paid out by the LTV insurance.
12:38:38 From Joe Sperling : Sorry - LTC insurance.
12:39:01 From nancy toward to Hosts and panelists : Bernadette, if someone applies and uses long term care Medicaid. Upon his or her death, can the house be garnished in order to reimburse the state for expenses paid out? I know a lot of folks are eligible but would like to pass along their homes to their children.
12:39:07 From Colleen, LionHeart Eldercare to Hosts and panelists : lets talk next about long term care policies, lots of questions there
12:42:16 From Robyn Hall : I work with low income elderly with Fairfax County Government Housing. So many of my clients do have Medicaid and the nursing homes that accept Medicaid benefits is not acceptable care. There's a great need for long term care for this class.
12:44:46 From susan Infeld : Agree with Robyn Hall. There is need and need for advocacy for the most vulnerable.
12:45:28 From Joe Sperling : Modify the policy rather than dropping the coverage.
12:45:52 From James MacDonald to Hosts and panelists : My mom purchased LTC Insurance at 60. Paid $45k total up eto age 75 when she (I) made a claim due to Alzheimer’s. It paid for itself within the first 180 days of her memory care stay (she’s still there 18 months later).
