12:49:40 From Rosalyn Stewart to All panelists : Keswick has always paired younger volunteers with our residents for sharing stories, activities such as chess and checkers and just to communicate together. We have a program every Sunday - Sunday Dining - where volunteers and residents get together over an early dinner to talk, laugh and enjoy each other. We have also started an "Adopt a Grandparent Program" which was delayed by the pandemic but we hope to get it started again.
12:52:00 From Rosalyn Stewart to All panelists : Keswick's oldest resident is 111 years old and everyone wants to meet her, to ask questions about her life and, mainly, just to see someone who has been on this earth for so long....she is such a wonderful person!
12:52:48 From Stacey Carlin to All panelists : Thankfully in Cleveland there are several successful models and it works so well. I agree with changing the mindset of the leaders
12:52:49 From Kerry Byrne : I’m Kerry, Founder of a mission-driven business called The Long Distance Grandparent. I have an online monthly membership for long distance grandparents where I help them nurture strong and meaningful relationshps with grandchildren from a distance. I’m keen for grandparents to have high quality relationships with grandchildren because we know it is a protective determinant against ageism for grandchildren and grandparents. Intergen relationships within families are so important because this is often our first experience of connecting to another generation. You can reach me at kerry@thelongdistancegrandparent.com. Happy to collaborate or share ideas and inspirations to help generations connect from a distance.
