12:25:12 From Pam Mendelson : What do you do (in DC) if you have a low-income 80 yr old with the EPD waiver and has had in-home aide at max hours for a few years, but needs more care, but refuses to leave home for a low-income institutional provider?
12:25:48 From Steve Gurney - ProAging Community : Who is Eligible for the Katie Beckett Program?
Katie Beckett allows children under the age of 19 who have complex medical needs or long-term disabilities to become eligible for Medicaid coverage. This enables children to receive care in a home setting rather than an institution. Only the child’s income and resources (NOT the parents’) are used to determine eligibility.
