Administer, monitor, and continuously improve a grant-funded program that works with Montgomery County area villages and organizations in providing coordination of volunteer drivers and older adults in need of immediate transportation. Work with emerging villages and supporting organizations throughout Montgomery County. Work closely with Marketing/Outreach staff for VillageRides. Keep detailed client and volunteer driver records; become expert with database (i.e., Ride Scheduler) for input and reporting purposes. Manage Call Center for villages upon request. Track program budget. Submit reporting to grantor accurately and on time. Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining confidentiality. Be a motivated, self-starter who helps ensure that JCA’s performance meets or exceeds contracted goals.

Supervise the VillageRides program. Manage the relationships between the private and public partners and supporting organizations.
- Coordinate program development and implementation with Village Rides volunteers.
- Ensure availability and understanding of web-based logistics and database software, i.e., Ride Scheduler, to centralize information on transportation services in the community.
- Serve as Database Coordinator.
- Provide ongoing training for Ride Scheduler for interested village volunteers.
- Promote the use of innovative approaches to address gaps in existing service and meet critical customers’ needs. 
- Convene, manage, communicate with and summarize the work of the Advisory Committee.
- Take minutes at each of the quarterly Advisory Committee meetings (generally, two hours each) and with manager’s approval finished minutes to the Advisory Committee.
- Work with JCA leadership and Advisory Committee members to develop a plan for program sustainability.
- Respond to customers’ telephone, written and other inquiries in a prompt and professional manner.
- Manage the Call Center for villages as requested. Coordinate rides with designated volunteers, as needed, for a quick turnaround time for the request
- Collect data. Prepare reporting as required to grantor as well as final evaluation of the grant project, and submit these with management approval.
- Submit detailed monthly invoices to the JCA Accounting Department.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Carry out all duties and responsibilities in a manner that protects the health information of JCA clients and that conforms to all state, county and federal rules, regulations or requirements of law related to client health information or privacy rights. This obligation will survive the termination of employment or the end of association with JCA regardless of the reason for such terminations. For current staff, violations of the privacy policy and procedures may result in sanctions up to and including termination.

Pleasant and courteous telephone manner. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to work collaboratively with community partners, villages, volunteers and staff. Timeliness in responding to calls and requests for information and rides. Accurate, detailed record keeping. Ability to set priorities and complete tasks in a timely manner. Ability to handle multiple priorities. Ability and willingness to learn and train others on a web-based database. Capable of working effectively with volunteers. Knowledge of community transportation options. Access to transportation and willingness to travel locally. Willingness and ability to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, to get the job done. Familiarity with word processing, Excel and database list management programs in Windows 2007. Bachelor’s degree in human services or a transportation-related field plus at least two years’ experience working in a busy office. Or any equivalent mix of skills, abilities, experience and education that would render a candidate suitable for this position.


This is a grant-funded position through March 31, 2016. Continued employment is based on future funding.
