Insight Memory Care Center (IMCC) is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit whose mission is to provide specialized care, support and education for individuals with Alzheimer's disease and other memory impairments, their families, caregivers, and the community through our adult day health and resource center. Serving Northern Virginia since 1984, IMCC offers a spectrum of holistic care, education, and support, with a vision of a community where those affected by memory impairment can achieve the highest quality of life. Insight Memory Care Center is searching for a candidate to fill the Nurse Coordinator position (LPN/RN). This position is a full time exempt level position Monday through Friday. In addition, this position qualifies for health benefits, annual leave, and 401k.

The Nurse Coordinator is responsible for monitoring the health status of the participants. The Nurse Coordinator also works closely with the Director of Recreational Therapy and Social Services Coordinator to ensure that participants' health and wellness needs are being met through the programs and care given at the Center. In addition, the Nurse Coordinator will also assist participants with all activities of daily living (exercise, eating, ambulating, toileting and transfers). The Nurse Coordinator also works with the Nurse Advisor (RN) in regards to all participants' medications and Medicaid compliance measures. This position reports directly to the Program Manager.

Desired Qualifications: Equivalent combinations of education and experience that provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be evaluated on an individual basis.

Education:
Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing institution and be currently licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Staff who works with participants shall receive at least 24 hours of training no later than three weeks after starting employment; part-time staff shall receive the training no later than six weeks after employment.

Experience:
2-3 years long-term care experience, gerontological experience including dementia population required; must have effective communication skills, and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook). Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner. Finally an understanding of the Commonwealth of Virginia's Department of Social Services Regulations on Adult Day Health Care Services is preferred.
