Increased regulation, escalating costs, improvements in technology, access to better services, and a new cultural mindset have all come together making it advantageous to cut out the traditional homecare agency “middleman” and go direct to independent caregivers. Advantages include:

More control: You get to make the decisions!

More availability: We have lots of caregivers ready to work

Experienced & credentialed independent professional caregivers

Ability to staff tougher cases: Longer hours, higher needs

Happier caregivers: Increased satisfaction with higher wages and more stability

Affordability: In most cases, you will spend less than other alternatives!

We are long-term friends that each experienced the challenges of caring for our parents as their health declined and want to help others avoid similar challenges.

Iris: I learned a lot caring for both my parents at the end of their lives. My mother fell and ended up with a long hospital stay followed by rehab and then a challenging home care experience using an agency supplied aide. I made sure my father passed peacefully surrounded by people able to handle his care and who were also a comfort to him. I was looking for a senior care business that would change the model of home healthcare and prevent the experience we had when my mother was declining and then in hospice.

Professionally, I’ve always focused on problem solving and how to consistently improve. The experience my family and friends had gave me direct knowledge of the challenges that many face taking care of their loved ones and I wanted to be a solution. When I heard about Hallmark Healthcare, I knew it was a match.

Addy: My father was my best friend. Witnessing his slow descent into the featureless abyss that is Alzheimer’s was a searing experience. My mother was his primary caregiver for years while my siblings and I flailed about trying to find a viable alternative. She was giving so much of herself that we were afraid we would lose her. At best, we were only moderately successful in our efforts to find a suitable caregiver for him. Fortunately, my mother survived him by twenty years; by the time she passed peacefully in her sleep, we had had the opportunity to experience the opposite of our experience with my father’s care: the blessing of reliable, empathetic, loving hands that cared for her till the end.

So, years later, it was an easy decision when my dear friend Iris came to me with the idea of buying a Hallmark franchise. In working this business, Iris and I are just the tip of the iceberg. Steve Everhart, the founder of Hallmark Home Care, and his team bring together a combined total of more than a hundred years of experience from various aspects of this business. Iris and I can tap this knowledge base with just a phone call.

While dedicating this endeavor to my mother’s caregivers — Kenya, Renata, and Micah to whom I am profoundly grateful — Iris and I make you this promise:

Should you entrust us to recruit the best caregiver to fit your loved one’s needs, we will do so with the upmost care and attention.
