PROGRAM

We are all cognizant of the focus placed by CMS, commercial insurance providers, referral sources and health care consumers on publicly reported outcomes. Additionally, implementation of ICD10 code is rapidly approaching and accurate wound assessment ensures proper coding. A progressive stance in health care delivery would be supported by provision of the opportunity for this level of professional growth in your care settings. Additionally, there is great opportunity to maximize reimbursement through accurate data collection and to reduce cost through appropriate supply usage.

The WTA® (Wound Treatment Associate) educational program was developed by the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurses Society™ (WOCN®) to meet the growing need for skilled wound care providers in all care settings and to enhance nurses’ ability to provide optimal care for patients with acute and chronic wounds, as members of a collaborative wound care team. The WOCN® Society has been recognized with distinction by the ANCC as a provider of continuing education and is recognized by CMS as a resource for best practices related to wound management.
