THE JOB:

The Occupational Therapist is a new role that will travel to Dwell Assured clients to provide them with the tools to be more independent, have a better quality of life and live with as few restrictions as possible in their own homes.

THE RESPONSIBILITES:

• Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team, consisting of a Registered Nurse and Case Manager to assess a client’s home and recommend adaptions to fit the client’s needs to increase their independence.
• Select and construct therapies according to the physical capacity and interests of the client
• Develop supportive and effective relationships with clients
• Conduct follow-up assessments and recommend any changes to services required
• No hands-on patient care required

THE REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred

• Current MD State Occupational Therapist license

• Certified Occupational Therapist (OT) by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) or another appropriate licensure.

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience working as an OT with the aging population

• Have a strong sense of compassion and empathy to work with the client’s best interest in mind

• Must be flexible and have demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with staff at all levels

• Must have strong computer skills and have experience with record management systems

• Must be detailed oriented and resourceful

• Demonstrated ability to take initiative

• Effective communicator, both orally and written
