DC Villages have an opening for an LICSW to provide case management services for our members in crisis.  Additionally, the social worker would provide educational resources and facilitate support groups.  This position is on a contractual basis and hours vary depending on monthly needs ranging from approximately 60-70.

DC Villages are nonprofit neighborhood organizations that work to help older adults remain in their homes as long as safely possible while living their best lives.  The Case Manager will work with approximately six of the 13 villages in the District.

Responsibilities

Provide short-term crisis-related case management services to villages’ members

Conduct member assessments in person to determine needs and make appropriate resource recommendations to Village staff

Conduct educational programs on relevant topics of interest to aging adults

Offer support groups online or in-person

Confer regularly with village leaders, keeping them updated on all member contacts

Serve as resource for Village leaders

Qualifications

Must be DC licensed LICSW

Must carry liability insurance that includes the Villages as “additional insured”.

Experienced working with older adults

Flexible weekday hours averaging 60-70 hours a month

Ability to meet members’ in their homes throughout DC

Ability to respond quickly in a crisis situation

Independent self-starter highly motivated to assist Villages in fulfilling our mission

Knowledgeable about DC resources for older adults

Open to new experiences and willing to grow with the position

Innovative approach to problem solving
