Maryland Department of Aging Launches Community for Life Program in Four New Jurisdictions

Maryland Department of Aging Launches Community for Life Program in Four New Jurisdictions

The Maryland Department of Aging, in conjunction with Partners in Care Maryland, is pleased to announce the expansion of the Maryland Community for LifeSM Program to Anne Arundel, Caroline, Frederick, and Washington counties.

“It is with great pleasure that I announce our alliance with Partners in Care Maryland. This strategic partnership makes possible the delivery of key aging-in-place services to 230,000 Marylanders,” said Maryland Department of Aging Secretary Rona Kramer.

The Community for LifeSM Program provides grants to non-profits that commit to provide Marylanders over the age of 60 with a package of services that make it comfortable and convenient to age at home. The program’s services are designed to prevent the predictable challenges of aging that can require admittance into a high level of care facility, such as a nursing home or assisted living facility. These services include, but are not limited to: home maintenance, assistance accessing both public and private services, and transportation. The non-profit partner delivers Community for LifeSM services to individuals within their community in exchange for a membership fee.

“Partners in Care has been serving the older adults of Anne Arundel, Caroline, Frederick, and Talbot counties for over 25 years. We are thrilled to partner with the Maryland Department of Aging to offer Community for LifeSM services to our current members and to the older adults of Washington County,” said Mandy Arnold, President and CEO of Partners in Care Maryland.

Maryland Community for LifeSM services are also available in Allegany, Baltimore, Talbot, Wicomico, and Worcester counties and Baltimore City. The Maryland Department of Aging continues to work to expand these crucial services to all Marylanders over the age of 60.

Join Community for LifeSM today and enjoy your independence for many tomorrows to come.
