People on the Move: Carla Rawlings-Rye Dedicated Care Manager Retires!

Carla Rawlings-Rye has been an integral part of Seabury Care Management for 14 years.   She set the standard for dedication, compassion and determination in providing care coordination and support for many older adults. 

“No matter how difficult and challenging a client circumstance, Carla found a way to improve the situation for the better," commented Monica Micklos, Seabury’s Managing Director for Programs.  “Carla is the teammate who is brainstorming, sharing her insights and resources to help her colleagues and our clients."

Carla’s energies and efforts where focused on the safety and well-being of older adults.  One her many successful clients is John.  They first met back in 2012 when John was living alone in his suburban Maryland home.  Carla was instrumental in helping John transition from a difficult home situation to a comfortable assisted living community.  John’s positive adjustment to his new living environment cemented his relationship with Carla. When Covid struck, John unfortunately was hit hard.  Despite all the restrictions and obstacles during the height of the Pandemic, Carla stayed connected to John.  She helped him through his extended hospitalization, transfer to a skilled nursing facility for rehabilitation and eventual successful return to his retirement community.  Clara’s determination and ingenuity was key in shepherding John through a complicated process.

“Clara is the model of a Social Worker who is a testament to our profession," remarked Monica. “We will miss her dearly, but happy she will enjoy a well-earned retirement with family and friends.”
