This week we are featuring a throwback ad from our first edition in 1990.  The Georgetown Retirement Residence was an institution in Washington, DC.  Dozens of luminaries lived there over the years, we did interview with Senator Eugene McCarthy, Maurice Rosenblatt and Betty Friedan when they lived there.

It's rare when a senior living community gets converted to traditional multi-family, but that is the fate of The Georgetown, its now a luxury apartment building called Highbridge https://highbridgedc.com/ and for those who remember the old building take a peek at the website to see the radical difference!

Built as an apartment building in the 1920s, The Georgetown was “one of the city’s first retirement facilities to address the growing needs of its elderly population, offering both housing and an array of social services,” according to Holladay Corporation the properties owner.
