12:30:14 From Cybele Wu to Hosts and panelists : Wow! This is amazing. I did a mobility research project for a UX bootcamp when I was still a family caregiver. The majority of equipment is both dangerous and not practical for people who have mobility challenges.

12:42:03 From Louis Tenenbaum : Brad has done his homework. He is clear on the range of issues. And is gaining experience of the trials, tribulations, details and joy in the successes of coaching, consulting and mentoring aging in place housing for joy, dignity and respect for choice over the modern lifespan.
12:44:56 From Steve Gurney - ProAging Community : The Laurent House is the only building designed by architect Frank Lloyd Wright for a person with a disability. The single-story Usonian home is a rare mid-century design featuring a solar hemicycle footprint, and is considered one of the most well-preserved Wright homes in existence. https://laurenthouse.com/
12:46:03 From Laura Heinrich to Hosts and panelists : Brad-
12:46:45 From Laura Heinrich to Hosts and panelists : Love your approach. If you’re kids make their homes age-friendly, not only will they benefit, but their parents can visit!
12:48:52 From Steve Gurney - ProAging Community : International Organization for Standardization https://www.iso.org/
12:49:56 From Louis Tenenbaum : Great point to highlight the idea of Universal Design. Design that accommodates the most possible users without special adaptation. The big area under the bell curve…not the fringes.
12:50:41 From Amy Griboff, Esquire to Hosts and panelists : I'm searching for a new home in Maryland. Is there a community that might be already built with accessibility and inclusiveness?
12:52:51 From Amy Griboff, Esquire to Hosts and panelists : That would be awesome to certify contractors
12:55:45 From Ellen Ware to Hosts and panelists : https://design.ncsu.edu/research/center-for-universal-design/
Might want to look here for NCSU architect graduates who have been learning inclusive design since the 1980’s.

13:08:19 From Louis Tenenbaum : Brad hits the nail on the head. EXPERIENCE, attitude, approach are as if not more important than certification. CAPS, C.E.A.C., Age Safe America, CLIPP are all certification programs.

13:10:29 From Louis Tenenbaum : The bill we introduced in Congress last year, HR 7676, focused on incentives for these type of home updates regardless of financial eligibility, ability/health condition or age. The point is to update the housing stock as societal infrastructure.

13:11:13 From Karen Latimer : what is an adu?
13:11:59 From Louis Tenenbaum : Accessory dwelling unit…basically the new term for accessory apartment or what is sometimes called a granny flat or garden apartment. An additional housing unit on a single family lot.
