12:14:30     From Donna Marie  to  Hosts and panelists : Thank you!

12:19:50     From Steve Gurney - ProAging Community : s hospitals reconsider how and where they deliver care to patients, many are seeing the hospital-at-home model as a promising approach to improve value. Hospital-at-home enable some patients who need acute-level care to receive care in their homes, rather than in a hospital. This care delivery model has been shown to reduce costs, improve outcomes and enhance the patient experience. https://www.aha.org/hospitalathome

12:22:19     From Melissa Bressler : Collaboration creates success !                        Melissa Bressler, Outreach Director of HandyPro of Washington DC Metropolitan & OTR/L / melissa@handypro.com / 301-960-1060 / Contractors specializing in home modifications in Washington DC, Maryland and Northern Virginia

12:23:12     From Steve Gurney - ProAging Community : https://ageinplace.org/publications/

12:24:22     From Jean Ivory : I like the idea of purchasing a comparable new home.  I am seriously thinking about that.

12:24:45     From Nicole Paolozzi : This was such a huge relief for my parents in Ashburn, VA.

12:25:43     From Steve Gurney - ProAging Community : Considering a Reverse Mortgage - 62 and over + staying in the home long term

12:26:16     From Michelle Nowak  to  Hosts and panelists : An equity line or bridge loan can also be other options to change living arrangements. I realize Reverse mortgages have become much more reliable in recent years, there is still a reluctance to use them. Very important topic.

12:26:50     From Steve Gurney - ProAging Community : From Michelle Nowak to All Panelists 12:26 PM

An equity line or bridge loan can also be other options to change living arrangements. I realize Reverse mortgages have become much more reliable in recent years, there is still a reluctance to use them. Very important topic.

12:27:31     From Ali Soltani : This is Ali from HandyPro, specializing in aging in place services in the DMV area (DC Metro). Please feel free to contact us for a complimentary consultation at 301-960-1060 or via email at ali@handypro.com., handyprowdc.com

12:29:17     From Mary Jo Saavedra : I love using an Occupational Therapist to assess driving and extend driving safely or advise stopping. Creating a Transportation plan before you need it makes it easier to transition.

12:29:34     From Michelle Nowak  to  Hosts and panelists : With regard to driving, there are private companies that do a driving “assessment”, may want to avoid using the word Test with the aging. Aging folks think a test can have their licenses taken away if they fail. An assessment can just identify areas of concern, point them out. Unlike family, who the aging believe may have alternative motives. You can have this discussion with the Dr, neurologist can suggest. The results can open a dialog to guide the client to make the decision to not drive themselves. Give them the control as much as possible.

12:29:36     From Nancy Feeney : can you remind me of the title of the book?

12:30:40     From Steve K : Nancy click on the link above, it will bring to the Amazon webpage for the book and it’s title

12:31:18     From Nancy Feeney : thanks

12:31:23     From Tara Ballman - National Aging in Place Council : The full title is Difficult Aging in Place Conversations: What Industry Experts Have to Say

12:32:20     From Sue Haviland : I ordered a copy of the book for my 93 year old mom who still lives in her home. She loved the book and is sharing it with her friends.

12:35:35     From Ruth DeHart : Take advantage of Village Network organizations for transportation  and more

12:39:10     From Kelly Lambert : My observation is that it is just as difficult to take the keys away from someone with no cognitive impairment! We have a 99 year old male client who left his car running (to drop off mail) but did not put the vehicle into park. When he realized what was happening, he tried to "stop" the car and was dragged for 30 feet and sustained serious injuries. This happened last fall and he is asking to drive again. The DMV revoked his license unless he takes a safety class. He's willing but his children are freaking out at the possibility.

12:40:37     From Steve Gurney - ProAging Community : Our mission is straightforward: to help protect and ensure the financial security, health, and social lives of current and future mature Americans, and to help Americans navigate the bewildering array of decisions they need to make.
