• "EXCELLENT event.  Thank you!  Q:  Myth or Truth?        1) “Put our DNR on the refrigerator for the EMS?” 2) Put “ICE”(in case of emergency” in your iPhone contacts and EMS will know who to call — how does EMS get thru safety settings that need a Passocde??"
• I once had a sudden, severe food allergy.  Jumped in a taxi - rush hour so taxi driver VERY smartly dropped me off at a nearby Fire Station — where they had liquid Benadryl.  Is that the norm?  Or was I VERY lucky?
• Refusal form, stay in place, not be transported to hospital, should one keep this form with MOLST OR POLST form posted on refrigerator? So helpful thank you...so much to know...
• "Is your company nationwide?  IN ALL STATES?"
• Could the Speakers pls better define when to go to “Urgent Care” or “ER”?  Urgent Care locations are relatively new phenonmenon.
• How do we provide education to patients, family and community services to know when to go to the hospital vs urgent care? What about times when transportation is the issue and their only options is to call 911 to get care? (also put in chat)
• So what services does your company provide?
• Trained, taught, educated, skilled, equipped, so you have a care plan...you have to know first how to take care of yourself... so important
• Lots of folks are now Solo Agers/Elder Orphans.  Can they “hire” your service or any other type that exists (suggestions?!) to sign us out of let’s say an out-patient surgery (if we do not have good neighbors or friends to help out)?
• Do areas that have MRT (mobile response team) in place, that may include consenting adults, cut down on EMT responding to urgent matters? Many MH conditions manifest in physical symptoms that can mimic heart attack, etc.
• "Need more care? How can caregivers know what to do Should caregivers get more training to take care of loved ones? how to know if condition could get worse ?"
• If a spouse is found a few hours later passed away on the sofa while the other spouse was asleep upstairs, does the law (state-specific??) demand that 911 still is called?  Or is there another govt. office that should be called?  Great speakers!  Thnx!

• YUP!  The first call is to call the Hospice organization and get off hospice before going to ER… The billing coding afterwards if you don’t is hell
• So can your health care service treat this fungal infection or must they be discharged from hospice for care?

12:22:30     From  Karen Dotson : I am the Virginia POLST Program Coordinator and those in their last 1-2 years of life due to serious illness and/or frailty are appropriate for this medical order.  In Virginia, there is a relatively new model of care in some limited areas called Mobile Integrated Health (MIH).  Some rural patients lack access to primary care and use 911 and emergency medical services (EMS) to receive healthcare in non-emergency situations. This can create a burden for EMS personnel and health systems in rural areas. Community paramedics can work in a public health and primary care role to address the needs of rural residents in a more efficient and proactive way.

12:32:24     From  Matthew Burgan : As a board certified community paramedic, I would just like to share that I consider mobile integrated healthcare to be an umbrella descriptor for the myriad of ways that a healthcare system touches patients who have an acute or ongoing health need that is both non-emergent and non-skilled.  Community Paramedicine would be an element of MIH, and a community paramedic is an advanced-practice paramedic operating in an expanded role (either with or without an expanded scope) works to assess and assist patients in the “blind spot” of existing healthcare systems.
