Questions Asked

  • Is District Mobile able to provide extractions in a hospital setting due to medical concerns. Also,  do they take Medicaid?
  • How long does is take for the periodontal disease to develop once dry mouth begins
  • Can you speak to possible bone loss in patients who have osteoporosis and are taking bisphosphonates? Thank you
  • If and when there is a dental need for tooth Extractions should all dentists know about side effects of biophosphates? We are learning that Many primary care physicians prescribe Bio Phosphate medications for osteoporosis and aging patients with concerns about falls, hip fracture, ankle fractures and breaking bones. However regular dentist asked patients if they were told about side affects of biophosphates which includes Necrosis of jaw, that is bone does not heal after tooth extraction and jaw bone rots and dies. How would one know to refuse or seek alternatives to biophosphates? Please talk about necrosis of jaw bone after tooth extractions?
  • How do dentists rebuild jaw bone foundation when a patient needs dentures?
  • Do you recommend the brushed on fluoride treatment for seniors?
  • My mother just broke her dentures. Do regular family dentists make dentures or what kind of a dental specialist should make new ones for her?
  • Permanent dental bridges for loss of individual teeth. Dentist did not explain and teeth patients that bridges only last certain amount of time then need to be replaced because some dental bridges actually fall apart. This is similar to knee replacement and hip replacement surgery and surgeons do not always explain that the replaced knee and or hip will only last a certain number of years. Sometimes healthy teeth decay, cannot breath and are lost because teeth trying to live under the artificial dental bridge. Please talk about dental bridges, partial bridges and dental inserts.
  • What equipment is mobile? What dental work is possible in a mobile unit, & what isn’t?
  • Are you willing to come to a senior property or senior center to do an inservice or clinic to educate and service the seniors?
  • How does Truthbrush perceive/transmit what tooth is being brushed?
  • Is it true that cavities have increased because people are drinking bottled water instead of tap water and bottled water isn’t fluoridated?
  • Type of toothpaste for seniors - sodium vs. stannous fluoride - does it make a difference for cavities for this population.
  • How can we order the Truthbrush?  I live on the west coast.
  • Can Truthbrush tell if you are brushing too hard?
  • For those who are uncomfortable with flouride, what about alternative options like nanohydroxyapetite?

I fully recognize the need for optimal dental hygiene in preventing chronic illness but how do we determine when affordability outweighs the benefits for seniors on fixed incomes.  Lets all lobby  Congress to get basic annual dental care covered.
