15:20:11     From  Steve Gurney - ProAging Community : Rozi Rice 03:07 PM

My challenges in marketing to older adults is their pick-up time is longer than for younger demographics. They don't check emails everyday and are not on most social media platforms

15:20:21     From  Steve Gurney - ProAging Community : Anonymous Attendee 03:17 PM

I've been focusing a majority of my marketing to case management at the hospitals but I feel I need to make a move to marketing to the community because its the adult children helping making the decision.  Any tips or tricks for marketing in the area?

15:22:22     From  Rich Carlson   to   Hosts and panelists : We were using traditional print media for several years in an active adult community on Cape Cod (MA).  Average time frame from visiting the model on site to signing a P & S was 6-18 months.  We began a radio and TV campaign on specific media stations and reduced that time frame to one to six WEEKS (first on-site visit to signing a P & S) if they saw or heard those ads.

15:23:38     From  Rich Carlson   to   Hosts and panelists : We used well-known and trusted media personalities for both radio and TV ads.

15:25:18     From  Lisa Humes : I am your local insurance agent/ broker working with Businesses, Individuals, and Medicare folks for Health, Life, Disability, Travel Heath Insurance, and more using all major carriers. Questions are always welcome!  Lisa Humes 703-307-0090  LHumes@HealthMarkets.com

15:26:24     From  Gary Comi : Thank you! :)

15:26:42     From  Bernadette Perrong : Best community marketing I've done was under a huge canopy at a community fair in June. We played "oldies" on our iPhone and had lots of folding chairs for people to sit down.  We offered nothing but a place to sit in the shade and got lots of referrals!

15:27:01     From  Steve Gurney - ProAging Community : Suzanne Barbero 03:22 PM

I’m starting a bill payer/organization service for seniors to manage their monthly bills, set a budget, gather tax documents, submit long term care invoices for reimbursement and connecting them with the right people for legal and real estate  Any suggestions on how to get started w marketing? How does one approach other professionals for referrals? So far I’ve gotten clients via friends but it’s not enough.

15:27:46     From  Gary Comi : That's a great idea Bernadette!

15:29:06     From  Emily Shewmaker : What are the most important things case managers, care managers, home care agencies, other healthcare professionals etc look for when referring a client or patient for a particular service?

15:33:49     From  Joe Sperling : Experience, specialization, easy access.

15:36:54     From  Steve Gurney - ProAging Community : Anonymous Attendee 03:33 PM

ElderCare managers have been a great referral resource   for me when marketing HH. Do you have any advice on how to get infront of them / what they are looking for?

15:37:04     From  Emily Shewmaker : thank you Joe

15:38:05     From  Gary Comi : Linked in has been amazing for reaching out to Eldercare managers!

15:38:56     From  Laura Heinrich   to   Hosts and panelists : Cindy what is the best way to get in touch with you?  I am looking for a personal trainer

15:40:31     From  Steve Gurney - ProAging Community : Ali Soltani 03:38 PM

We like to be in front of discharge planners but we were not siccessful so far. Do you have any suggestions.

15:43:53     From  Gary Comi : co-marketing with someone else provides the case managers with lots of information in the same amount of time

15:45:22     From  Rich Carlson   to   Hosts and panelists : Steve - you can disregard my earlier chat comment.  Probably not relevant to today’s program.  Thanks.

15:45:28     From  Steve Gurney - ProAging Community : Ali Soltani 03:38 PM

We like to be in front of discharge planners but we were not siccessful so far. Do you have any suggestions.

15:46:14     From  Ali Soltani : Gary, This is a great idea.

15:48:58     From  Joseph Garcia : Does anyone have success marketing on platforms such as next-door / other neighborhood apps?

15:50:21     From  Joe Sperling : I'm of the opinion that neighborhood chat rooms are not good or appropriate forums for marketing.

15:52:27     From  mark sherwin : Mark Sherwin Owner of ameriCARE Nova - Home Personal Care in Northern Va. Bringing personalized service to home/companion personal care. Keeping your loved ones safe and happy at home (wherever home might be). www.americarenova.com

15:53:18     From  Jessica Moore : I have found on next-door that people will ask for services like home care - which I know a lot of people in even though I'm at a nursing home.  Still gets my name out there and referrals from others who they might know as well.

15:53:40     From  Joseph Garcia : Thank you Joe and Jessica

15:53:44     From  Joe Sperling : Steve, I think you had it right early on, the message depends on the situation of your listener. Experience with a care need makes one more receptive to a message about care.

15:54:21     From  Jonathan Landers   to   Hosts and panelists : Thank you!

15:58:19     From  Joe Sperling : Marketing is not the same as responding to a question about possible resources..  I am all in favor of responding with resources.

15:58:34     From  Lisa Prestridge   to   Hosts and panelists : Do you have a geographical direct mail service that you prefer to use for an initial mailer for grand openings etc.?

15:59:37     From  Ryan Greene : There are great Nextdoor marketers on Fiverr

16:01:53     From  Anthony Nunez : Authenticity is important

16:02:01     From  Ryan Greene : 100% but you can also use them to help with a paid ad for each zip code that caps at $50 a day
